I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same thing with my ex. Fourteen years in court and 100's of thousands of dollars in legal fees where only the attorneys won. He left me with $65K in taxes that he refused to pay so the IRS came after me. I am a teacher so I'm an easy target, and that is exactly what he told me..."an easy target." He quit his job so I was court ordered to support him and he never paid child support, even after I proved that he earned six figures all the time we were going through the fourteen years of divorce. The woman-judge dismissed over $85K in back child support that he was ordered to pay, yet never did. Medical bills, private school...all that was never paid either. It was all dismissed by her. I could go on and on. Oh, and he forged my name to an IRA account and took over $250K out of just one account. There's more to this story but you don't need to hear it. I struggled to survive and keep my daughter, all the while he tried everything to take her away from me. I taught school then would clean houses, then take in ironing to support us.

Now here is the crazy thing. He is doing the same rotten job to our daughter by putting her into debt. He has used her name fraudntly and opened accounts under her name now that she is an adult. He has purchased big ticket items in her name and left her with the bills, and he refuses to pay a dime. She is an adult, but she acts like an angry spoiled child and takes all her hatred out on me and blames me for all of her misery and the horrible life that her father has put her in. I have saved her time after time, yet she attacks me like a pit-bull every time she can. After surviving his financial abuse; the court's financial and emotional abuse; and her continued verbal abuse, I've had it!! I hear you, Denise. Who said the good guys win?
