Thanks for posting, grandogg13. The answer to that question depends a whole lot on who would be visiting the site and people's own definition of "safe" - a little child, a teen, a conservative or liberal, someone in North America vs. someone in Europe or Asia. Most parents want to steer little kids away from sites where they can communicate with other (anonymous) people they don't know and feel that "safe" means content provided by a branded media company known for producing good children's material (e.g., Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids), but others are worried about the commercialism of these sites and its impact on kids, feeling that's not "safe." People in some parts of the world seem to be much more concerned about kids' exposure to hate speech than Americans are about their exposure to nudity. Different people have different tolerances for profanity. And a lot of people feel that Web sites that make your computer vulnerable to viruses and malicious code aren't safe. Don't you love "it depends" answers? It's hard to get around, where the Web's concerned, though, since it's basically a mirror of all of human life. Does that help at all?
