what if someone posts photos of your child without permission?

A former acquaintance refuses to remove photos of my toddler from her private photo gallery. In response to my request to remove my child's photos, this individual changed the password to her on line gallery so that I can no longer see if my child's photos are still posted. I have contacted the webhost of the gallery and they assured me that they would email her and ask her to remove the pictures. However, since I can't see the gallery, how can I make sure that she removes them? This person not trustworthy or rational and I would like to protect my child. This issue is really bothering me. What other actions can I take?

I came across a similar problem on the Bebo site. I contacted Bebo Support, and they took swift action, and deleted the offending photographs, and sent a warning to the member who posted them. Thankfully they haven't appeared since.

I'm sorry to hear about this trouble you're having, valley1900, but I'm not sure what you can do beyond talking with the person again or getting confirmation from the hosting company that the photos have been taken down. If it's any help, the child's photos on a private page are very unlikely to be a risk to your child if because they're not accessible to public viewing. Maybe someone else here will have other ideas. All best,
Anne
