My teenager is also having a problem with myspace. Someone made another account impersonating her and stole her "about me" and pictures of her friendsthat were on her site. They, impersonating my daughter, made racist remarks and terrible remarksd about her friends. This is causing problems for her from people in her school and strangers responding to those remarks. Tom the creator hasn't responded to her complaints about this either. What to do?

:|Your daughter had to be friends with that girl in order for her to get your daughter's password. It is not myspace's fault, just your daughter's for choosing unloyal friends. Its happened to me, I know.

Hello: In response to this topic. I have had to contact MySpace.com three different times to have imposter profiles and a "hate group" deleted. I did not use the "salute", but rather just filled in my email address and my complaint.
customercare@myspace was a bit slow the first time around, but my most recent request was taken care of in less than 48hrs.

Hope this helps.

Carolyn, Tom isn't the one to send abuse complaints to - they won't get taken care of that way, MySpace tell us. You need to send an email to customercare@myspace.com with the subject line “Imposter Profile.” In the email, you need to include the URL in question. You also need to attach what MySpace calls a "salute," a digital photo of your child that's "well lit, clear, and contains a clear image of the victim's face, as well as a handwritten sign that says 'MySpace' as well as the email address that you're sending the message from," MySpace's Customer Care folk tell us. They add that if someone sends a salute and no action was taken it's probably because it doesn't contain the info mentioned above or didn't appear authentic. I hope this helps. All best,
Anne
