Hi. I need some advice on what to do. I reported a website and some people for cyberbullying (stalking, threats, and harassments) to Crime Stoppers. They have not replied to me about what's going on and if they're still looking into the cyberbullying. Is there some other organization that I can make this report to? Or should I keep waiting for Crime Stoppers?

Hi, I'm making a radio programme in the UK for Radio 1’s Surgery with Scott Mills and I need your help! The programme is called Overexposed Online and it's about privacy issues on social networking sites. Basically, I'm looking for people who might have a story to tell. We on the Sunday Surgery at Radio 1 want to find out what negative experiences you might have had when chatting/ tweeting/ posting up pictures and socialising online. Has any of your information ever been used for a purpose you didn’t intend? Have you ever had any bad repercussions from a facebook or bebo post or a twitter update? In telling people’s stories The Surgery hopes to offer a warning about what can happen when we’re perhaps a little indiscreet online, offer advice as to how you can use these sites safely, without drama and find out what your rights are over your online information. Scott and I would love to hear from anyone with a story to tell. Many thanks! p.s. If you want to contact me directly send your emails to jade@wisebuddah.com

Hi LillyFlower, Sounds like the website is a small, independent operation, so if they won’t address your concerns, there's little you can do short of permanently leaving the site. And while I'm not defending the site's admins, if they don’t find the behaviors in violation of their Terms (assuming the site has Terms), it's often a he-said, she-said situation, and the site may be choosing to protect the other user’s free-speech rights. If there's criminal harassment involved, of course, talk to the police (though there probably wouldn't be much the police could do unless the person is threatening physical harm, which is illegal in many countries). I wish I had better news. It's probably best to stop visiting the site if you feel you (and others) are being treated unfairly. Maureen -- Maureen Kochan ConnectSafely community manager

The person who runs the website and the interactive online community is from Europe. I believe she's the sole owner, as everything gets reported to her and she has the ability to restrict or allow things. Being the owner, she also has the ability to "spy" on other people in terms of where they are in the online community and what they are saying. This "spying" is both good and bad. In my case it's bad because if she's been looking in on what's happening to me and has had no plans to stop the cyberbullying, then I am sad not only for myself but for the other people who are also suffering. I've sent screenshots to Crime Stoppers that document the harassments, but haven't heard back from them. If I may I could let you see samples of the screenshots and then perhaps I can know what else can be done.

Hello, sorry to hear about your trouble, my son has had trouble too, not directly but comments have been posted on bebo about him and also an account has been set up in his name which is NOT his which I cannot access to see what it is about . I have reported it to Bebo on their report abuse section and they have done nothing...it means when you "google" my sons' name derogatory comments come up about him. These are old comments but they still appear. Is there anything that can be done about this another external agency that moderates the social network sites?

I reported the cyberbullying to the person who runs the website. She turns a blind eye to people who need help. The people who were involved in the cyberbullying are still there the last time I checked. It's a type of website that has a program that lets people interact with each other online.

Welcome Lilly Flower, Can you report the harassment to the website itself? (You don't mention what kind of website is involved.) Maureen -- Maureen Kochan ConnectSafely community manager
