Heads up, Hi5 users!

Hey, Hi5 people. This morning we got some info from Hi5's customer-service group that includes helpful info on spam for all of you: Sometimes Hi5 "members mistakenly accept profile comments from people who aren’t their friends, and the comment includes spam code that redirects the profile to a commercial site. This past weekend we changed our default settings so that members can only accept comments from their existing friends, unless they go and manually change the setting. Hopefully this will help avoid situations like this one below."

All best,
Anne

Hi Oxe, You'll need to contact customer service at help@hi5.com. Include your profile's URL, and new email. You should hear back from Hi5 with additional instructions within a few days.

Good luck,

Maureen

Welcome Hara, It sounds like someone hacked into your account.

To help prevent this from happening again, check out these tips from Hi5:

1. Make sure you keep your password confidential and do not disclose it to anyone.
2. Don't use a password that your friends or family or a stranger can easily guess.
3. Be sure to click the "logout" link at the top right of any hi5 page every time you finish visiting the site. This is especially important if your used a shared or public computer.
4. Don't use the "Keep Me Logged In" option if you use a shared or public computer.
5. Don't include private personal information such as your home address or telephone number on your profile. Only share personal information with your friends and people you trust.
6. Use the Privacy Settings in your "Account" page to help control who can contact you and post comments on your hi5 profile and photos.

Best,

Maureen

Hey Hi5 guys,

I was trying to connect myself in my Hi5 account and I can't log in.
The message is sending me to my old email address that I am no longer using. And the other help should come from Hi5's Customer support...
The problem is that there is no link to the Customer support on the Hi5 page. (www.hi5.com)

Please advise!

Hi Anne,
I think it is fantastic that you got a message from someone at Hi5. Unfortunately my efforts to contact them invariably result in a computer-generated message.

Given there have been what amounts to death threats made against my wife and I at Hi5 for several weeks, and Hi5 has done nothing to stop this recurring, would it be possible for the person at Hi5's customer-service group to ensure some of their good work now continues to making sure that false and defamatory information is no longer posted on their site?

Do you think you could pass on the email address of your friend at Hi5 so that I can get in touch with a human the next time someone uses their site as a killing proxy and my life is endangered by their inaction?

Many thanks for any help.

anne this is not bad news.but still what happenes to all the fake profiles we have been complaing about?all the internet abuse?all the fake photos put up impersonating people?hi5 should concentrate on much more serious things like these that have caused hurt and pain to people and attimes even peoples jobs.tell them to get rid of all the fake profiles on hi5 and to just do the wishes of their abused customers
