MySpace false login pages.

Hello,
This is going to be a lot to read. But please take the time to read it. I promise you it could save you some very big problems at some point.
I recently posted a reply to a forum titled MySpace bulletins. I have sense learned some new information that could be helpful in avoiding these false login pages. I could not find a forum related to false login pages, so I am starting one. I am going to give what information that I have learned so far and along with that if you pay very close attention when logging to MySpace it could save you a lot of problems later down the line. First and foremost yes there are false login pages out there and one of them can open up even if you are on the real MySpace. Here are the two so far that I have either found or have been told about. “PLEASE DO NOT FOR ANY REASON TRY TO GO TO THESE FALSE LOGIN PAGES. The first one, if it opens it will tell you that you must logged in to do that. Just as the real MySpace page will tell you if your not logged in and try to edit your profile or something that you do have to be logged in to do. Now on this particular page or any login page (you should look and check even if you think you are in the right place) if it is in fact a false login page this one in particular up in the address bar of you internet explorer you will see the address (ewwssd.page.vu) I removed the http:/ / from that so you could not accidentally click on it. But those words are what you will see instead of (www.myspace.com) which is what you see on the real MySpace login page. If you see that close your web browser at once. It is a false login page. It will look somewhat like the MySpace login page but if you type you username and password into it you will not be logged into anything. It is a program designed to steal your username and password. It sends that information to someone that will later maybe sell it or use it to login to your MySpace and use your profile to spam out bulletins and all sorts of stuff. The worst part is that that person now can see your personal information. So far I have had some luck getting that one pretty much shut down. But please be aware it could be right back at anytime. That address as of today takes you to some kind of advertisement page. You should still stay away from it. Other things to look for on that particular page are there are no images that you see on the MySpace login page.
Now this next false login page I have just recently discovered from an email that a user sent to me. And this one really looks very much like the real MySpace login page. But there are some small differences that will tell you that it’s not MySpace. This page you should use extreme caution if you see it and close you web browser (Internet Explorer) as soon as you notice it’s false. The truth of the matter is that as of now I am not really sure what this page has the ability to do. You should also run a anti-virus and spy ware scan of your computer after closing the page. Here is what you will see in the web browser address bar when you’re on this page. You will see (loginrnyspaces) at the beginning of those words you will see http//: and at the end of it you will see. .com. Notice the way that it is spelled. That is not the word login. But when it is all one word in you address bar it is very hard to tell the difference. I will separate the letters so you can see it better. l o g I n r n y s p a c e s. When it is all together the way the letter r and the letter n make it look like the words myspace. It uses your own eyes against you. Now this page should viewed as very dangerous because it looks almost exactly like the real login page. Most of the images show up. But some don’t. And most of the links on the page like the home link or the search link if clicked take you back to the MySpace page. The best thing to look for is the wording in the address bar. The other thing to look for is that this page almost always says Hi, cj. Instead of saying Hi, and whatever your username is. If you see Hi, cj, you know you’re on a false login page. Here are some very simple things that will help keep you safe. If you are on the correct and real MySpace login page it will always say http:/ / www. myspace. com/ in the address bar. If you get a bulletin from one of your friends that has words (bad language, condoms, porn) or advertisements in it that you know your friend would not be sending a bulletin like that, then no matter what do not open it. Just ignore it. These are usually Spam material that is sent out when a username has been taken over. Even if you think that everything is safe and you MySpace does not seem to have any problems. Change you password, in fact change it at least once a month. And “NEVER” use the same password that you use for your personal email account. I know this has been a lot to read. But there may come a time that you will be glad that you did. As I am able to get more information on these subjects, I will either post them here or pass them on to the Blog-Safety directors to make sure that corrective actions are being taken. The matters in this forum are being addressed now, and hopefully will be resolved soon.
