I work in a retail stores and I came across what seemed to be a profile that one of my co-workers/friends had. It didn't have much, it looked like someone started the profile and didn't finish. It had her name, age and where she lived. I saw her a few days later and told her about the profile and she said that she did not make it. She is pretty upset that someone set up a fake account to try to pretend to be her. She asked me to help in removing it. I tried contacting Customer Service about 5 times and have not recieved a reponse and the profile is still up. I contacted the owner of Myspace, Tom, and he isn't doing anything about the profile that isn't hers. This is a safety issue and we would like this matter resolved as soon as possible. Hey Matt, Annie, and everyone else in this thread, the ONE address that will get you a quick response on imposter profiles is:
imposterreport@myspace.com
Any other address you use for this purpose is just extra layers before you get to the right people at MySpace. Tom does not do customer service - he gets uncountable emails every day, so that is definitely not the route to take! (See "MySpace's best contact addresses" among our Articles & Advice.)
Try the imposter report address and, if you don't hear from MySpace in about three days, email us at admin@blogsafety.com and we'll see what we can do. Good luck,

Hi all.
I cannot believe how many people this is happening to. I too have an imposter profile on myspace. I contacted MySpace several times and no response. I asked them to let me know how do I go about finding out WHO created the page. I not only want the page shut down, I would like to know who has created it. What's to say that it will not happen again? I am completely disgusted with this. The page was created last year and just found out about it a couple of months ago. Its ridiculous how someone can do this and get away with it. The friend ID to the fake page is 112452939. Can anyone help???? I dont want to see this page anymore and I dont want it to happen again. HELP...

I am also having trouble with an imposter myspace profile that has been up for two years now.
I have already gone through all the steps given by myspace with no luck. Do they even look at the salutes sent in?
Anyway, I wouldn't be so upset but the imposter profile has already done a number on my reputation.

Jim bob, I don't know if you saw my answer to another post about this, so here it is in case you didn't or in case you haven't done the following:
You need to send an email to customercare@myspace.com with the subject line “Imposter Profile.” In the email, you need to include the URL you provided in your post here. You also need to attach what MySpace calls a "salute," a digital photo of your child that's "well lit, clear, and contains a clear image of your face, as well as a handwritten sign that says 'MySpace' and shows the email address you're sending the message from," MySpace's Customer Care folk tell us. They add that if someone sends a salute and no action was taken it's probably because it doesn't contain the info mentioned above or didn't appear authentic. I hope this helps. All best,

CarlieMariex, pls try what I suggested to Matt and Belinda - email customercare@myspace.com or, under Contact, choose Reporting Abuse, then Imposter Profiles. Wait 2-3 days and if nothing happens, let us know again here, ok? MySpace says they delete reported imposter profiles on sight. Good luck,

I just found out like 2 days ago when i was at work, One of the girls i work with told me there was a very inappropriate myspace made about me! At 1st i was in shock then i thought to myself someone absolutely pathetic who has no goals in life made it about me!!! I was very upset and i was going insane trying to figure out who it was! After 3-4 hours i figured out who it was, Its an ex boyfriend i had when i was in 11th grade!! 11th grade for godsakes and im in my JUNIOR year in COLLEGE!!!!!!!!, I reported the violation to myspace twice to get it off there! But nothing has been responded to me yet at my email! Its making me feel horrible, I just want it get off there asap, got any advice?

Matt and Belinda, Tom isn't the one to contact about impersonating profiles. You need to report them via Report Abuse (choose "Imposter Profile" once you've chosen "Report Abuse" in the Contact MySpace area) or email CustomerCare@MySpace.com. Just give them a couple of days to respond. This is happening a lot on the social Web, not just MySpace. Good luck,

hi i also have a profile on my space that my exhusband is putting on with picture of me that were given to him during our marriage and he is giving out my personal phone number and chatting with guys acting like he is me i have already erased one of them about 2 weeks ago but he keeps doing it how can i stop from him putting sites about me he is putting my life in danger by giving away information to strangers not only that it is very humiliating the friend ID is 136845569 plase help me take it off
