I work in a retail stores and I came across what seemed to be a profile that one of my co-workers/friends had. It didn't have much, it looked like someone started the profile and didn't finish. It had her name, age and where she lived. I saw her a few days later and told her about the profile and she said that she did not make it. She is pretty upset that someone set up a fake account to try to pretend to be her. She asked me to help in removing it. I tried contacting Customer Service about 5 times and have not recieved a reponse and the profile is still up. I contacted the owner of Myspace, Tom, and he isn't doing anything about the profile that isn't hers. This is a safety issue and we would like this matter resolved as soon as possible. hello, thanks i got a reply back and this is what i got, but im kind of confused, that is i sent a salute in the attachment. It can take about 2 weeks to hear back from MySpace regarding an imposter report. (As you can imagine, MySpace gets a lot of imposter reports, and they must investigate each one.)
Please let us know if you don't hear back within two weeks - though, unfortunately, we can't guarantee MySpace will respond since we don't work for them.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so relieved to see the profile has been deleted. I feel a lot more safe now & will rest easy knowing it's gone. I will def let anyone else know about your site. Yes, I sent an email to that address yesterday and have not received a response yet. I thank you for responding to my posting so quickly. I'm mortified about this situation. I work 2 jobs and am studying for an exam. My time is limited for my personal life. So, now I'm trying to fight off this harassment and I just have no energy left. I recently received a friends request from someone who stole my picture and started a fake myspace page about me. That's how I discovered it. For a week now, I've been reporting this site to Myspace accordingly. Nothing seems to happen. Now they have put my home address on the site. Now what do I do. I called the police and there is nothing they can do. I'm desparate b/c I certainly don't want anyone coming to my home! I feel threatened. Anyone's help would be appreciated!

Someone help me! I am a teacher in near New Orleans and apparently, one of my students has created an imposter profile making the claims that I have done some horrific things with minors. I have contacted MySpace practically begging them to delete the account. I have filed a complaint with the FBI, but I dont know what good that will do! I have contacted the local authorities, but also to no avail. I am clueless as to what I can do and scared because this ultimately ruin my career. Hi, This is also happening to me - the two I've found that are active are http://www.myspace.com/265668292 http://www.myspace.com/260217795 I've emailed imposterreport with a salute and also changed a couple of the hotlinked images on my server and replaced them with a message saying that the profile has been stolen, which I guess is about all I can do until customer services reaches me! If anything can be done to speed up deletion of the fakes it would be greatly appreciated... Trudi |

Welcome stg22, Did you send the report to imposterreport@myspace.com? That's the fastest way to get your report seen - but know that it can take several weeks for MySpace to reply (see Anne's post below for more on this).
