URGENT: PEOPLE ARE BEING BULLIED

Dear Maureen,

As a mother of a 14 year old daughter, I am outraged that two young men are spreading violence through their MySpace pages. Their music has violent lyrics and they have been bullying my daughter and many other people. I do not know who to contact to have these pages removed from the internet. Something drastic needs to be done. These men are selling drugs to minors and it is getting out of control. The music that they are creating and spreading to my daughter and her friends is vulgar and disgusting. How can myspace allow such people to get away with this kind of behavior? Who can I contact to have the bullying stopped?

Dear StIvesValues, First, I recommend you contact the police immediately if you suspect drug dealing. (MySpace has a special unit that handles inquiries from law enforcement.)

I checked the public profiles and didn't find anything in violation of MySpace’s Terms of Service. (Song lyrics usually fall under First Amendment protections.) Still, as the mom of a minor, you can contact MySpace with you concerns via ParentCare, or click on the “Report Abuse” button at the bottom of every profile.
